12 days until I’m back and work and that totally sucks my butt.
I’m dreading going back to work. I still don’t even know where I’m going.
June is my favourite month. When I’m not working, that is. And I don’t want to miss the days. Strangely enough, I’m not worried about the boy (much). It’s that mother’s intuition thing. Remember when my intuition told me ‘no’? The women we ended up going with gets the same great feedback as that one, but my feeling about it is completely different. He’s going to a fantastic place to basically have a playdate every day for a few hours, with a nap in the middle.
What rocks about it is I only have to work for 5 weeks until I get 7 off. Then I have to work for 3 more months and get another year or more off.
(Another thing that rocks? I have a friend who just found out she’s pregnant and will be due within 3 weeks of me. I can’t tell you who, because some people who know her read this blog and she’s not telling yet but I’m SO excited to have a mat leave friend!)
We had a great Mother’s Day weekend. We spent Saturday at my mother in law’s house and went for a long walk with her and my mom while my dad and MIL’s husband went out gallivanting doing man things. Sunday I made a Mother’s Day brunch for my parents and my brother & sister in law before heading home to spend the afternoon & evening with the BG. I got the fantabulous rechargeable vac I’ve been wanting and a yummy dinner of my favourite takeout. (I asked for the vaccuum. My husband is not stupid. He’d never buy me any kind of appliance – especially a cleaning one – if I didn’t ask for it.) Wanna see it? It’s perty.

More pics after the jump…(not of the vacuum!)

Playing in Grandma’s CD drawer.
He was “organizing” it for her.

The boy and his cousin with my mom on Mother’s Day.

He spent much of the weekend climbing onto the end table
to get to the window.
He was fascinated with the crank.
For the last 2 weeks or so I’ve been thinking that getting up at 5:30 am might not kill me after all. Then, last night, the boy went to bed at 7:30 very easily and woke up and screamed & thrashed in pain on me in the lazy-boy from about 11 – 4. Working today would have really sucked my butt.

Sorry to hear work is creeping back up on you! But at least you don’t have to work for very long before you get almost 2 months off!

A year or more off? That’s something to look forward to.
Great images, especially the tub photo.

Aaahh! Only 12 more days! It will go by quickly – and so will the 7 weeks after it. It will be summer holidays before you know it!

I agree, at least you don’t have to work very much before you get more time off, then not very much more and you get maternity leave again! Woo hoo.

Those pictures are sooo sweet. So glad that you had a good Mother’s Day.
Look on the bright side. About the time you really start to get that “I REALLY don’t want to go to work today” feeling it will be time for more time off.
I, on the other hand, will be working until the day I die at this point. Debt really sucks Monkey toes!

Hey there! I love the pictures – I love pjs with feet on children – wish my kids still wore them. Rechargable vacuum? Interesting idea….
