The time: 2:00 am

The BG, drunk as a skunk, gets home from the beer gardens where he’s been watching hot rod cars…um…drive around…in the hot sun for 8 hours with the guys from work. (Yes, I was invited but we have no family in town to babysit the boy overnight. He first went last year when I was nursing every hour. This year I’m pregnant & can’t drink and next year I’ll be nursing every hour again. Perhaps in 2009 I’ll go with him? Anyway…)

He comes in to give me a hug & kiss before getting ready for bed and tells me about the women who thought he was cute and passed him messages to that effect. (Of the “My friend thinks you’re cute…tee hee” variety - hilarious!) In his opinion two were about our age (early thirties) and one was in her forties. He was flattered, as we all would be, but found it very amusing at the same time.

Now, he tells me regularly that he’s lucky to be married to me, is so glad he married me etc. but this was perhaps the best one ever…

“I’m so glad I married you. If all that was left was those crack whores and used-up looking old women, I’d be pretty damn depressed. I love you!”
