Slingin’ It For The Win

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY.

Congratulations to commenter Dawn who left this comment. (Check out her post - it’s great!)

Being hugely pregnant I’m finding it a little difficult to carry the boy around like he often wants me to. I was recently send a gorgeous pouch sling (which, believe it or not, I didn’t already have, even though I’m a huge sling advocate. I have pretty much every other kind.) from ModMum to review and let me tell you…they’re not just for infants! I can tuck his little toddler butt in there just as easily and he sits nicely on my hip without putting horrible strain on the rest of my body. I can hardly wait to try it with a newborn in…hmmm…anywhere from 1 day to 2.5 weeks?

What struck me most about this sling is the beautiful fabric on both sides - it’s completely reversible and not in name only - and the solid construction. You know when you pick something up and can tell that it’s well made just by the feel of it? That’s what I felt. I feel completely secure about putting my soon to arrive little person in there. (I got the Camden. Isn’t it great?)

They come in 9 beautiful fabric choices and you can win one!

Want to know how?

If you’re a blogger, grab the code below and plop it into a post at your own site. Leave a comment with a link to the post where you placed the image & mentioned the contest and you’re entered.

ModMum contest at Much More Than a Mom

If you’re not a blogger, you can still enter! You have two choices:

1. Visit the MomMum site and leave a comment on this post with your favourite fabric pattern and/or who you’d give the sling to if you win and/or why you think everyone should sling their babes! So yeah, basically just leave a comment and you’re entered. But…you must leave a valid email address with your comment.

2. Email your friends and family (at least two people) about this contest (attach the above image if you’re so inclined) and cc: the email to me at muchmorethanamom at gmail dot com.

But? You should really just get a blog. All the cool kids are doing it, and isn’t the image pretty? In fact, if you start a blog just for this contest, let me know and you get TWO additional entries!

I was going to do a Mister Linky entry system but isn’t that the creepiest name ever? As in, “Wanna touch my mister linky?” I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.

Because I don’t know when I’m going to have a baby and be away from blogging for a while (time away tbd by the birthing process and recovery etc) I’m going to leave this post and the comments open at least until I get home from the hospital. The earliest the contest will close will be New Year’s Eve at midnight MST, but it could be later if I can’t get my crap together to close the comments.

Good luck! And thanks, MomMum, for an awesome sling!

I am not entering as I was fortunate enough to already owe one of ModMum’s FABULOUS slings, but I wanted to tell everyone TO ENTER! The slings are great and I will be all blogging about this coming week!

Sending you many positive vibes for your birth :)

[...] Much More Than A Mom totally made my snow-filled winter day today by having a contest for an awesome ModMum pouch sling! I absolutely adore pouch slings and don’t know how anyone can parent a toddler and an infant without one. Although I already have a sling, who couldn’t use another one? Afterall mine is black and maroon - too dark a shade for the spring and summer (but perfect for fall). The Claire is the one I really want! [...]

OOooh so great. Good luck with the birthing and the recovery.

I’d love this sling to give to my buddy who is expecting in April. I’ve been selling her on wearing her little one and she’s buying in but I know actually having the sling in her possession would totally clinch the deal. There is no better way to raise a happy secure child than to keep them close to you.
I know she’d love the Taylor.

I am not expecting (Wish I was!) and won’t be for awhile but I do love the slings and hope to one day have one. In the meantime with it being Christmas and the giving season I would like to leave a comment requesting that one of the best and busiest! mommies I know be considered. Michelle (http://mdbeau.blogspot.com/) is always on the go and is doing so much that the versatility of a sling would do wonders for her newest little one. With her hubby away and big sister Kayla still a bit on the little side the sling would give her a chance to support her baby and still carry out all the duties of the super mom that she is.

As for the pattern, if I did win, I would leave that up to Michelle to pick out. :)

My daughter, Elizabeth, is very keen on using slings. I wish they were around when I was having kids! Sigh. Anyway, I would love to win it to give to her - and then maybe she would pass it on to her sisters whenever they are in the baby spirit (not soon!). I would leave the decision for pattern for Elizabeth to make. They look very cool! Thanks and good luck with your delivery.

I love the camden sling. Babywearing is the best bonding expereience with your little one that you can have. It reduces your stress because its hands free and you can get stuff done around the house or go shopping with no worries about germy carts. I would keep the sling as we expect our second baby=)

I am split between the “lily” and “taylor” prints. Lovely! I would *hopefully* give this to my best friend in the whole world who is currently undergoing IVF(as we speak, actually)..If that doesn’t (finally) pan out for her, then I would give it to my gal friend from around the bend who also recently had a baby. I have plenty of pouch slings and my kids are getting a bit heavy as it is! I LOVE baby wearing as it makes my babies feel secure, keeps me close to them at all times so I know exactly what’s going on with them(IE if they are hungry, etc.), is convenient for feedings on the go or otherwise, and best of all it means that I have had happy babies who are not screaming their heads off all of the time!

I love the Taylor design because I like the splash of colorful dots. It makes the design seem fun and playful, but also stylish. I would give it to a friend if I won a sling. I think everyone should sling their babies because it keeps the baby close to you, but still leaves room to move around and do things.
