My new sister-wife…she is fat.
We have welcomed a new soul into our home.
Anyone watch “Big Love?” It’s good.
I call her “the bag of jello that used to be a baby” or tbojtutbab for short. That’s not very short, actually. Hmmm. Did you try to say it out loud? You did, didn’t you? I did. Let’s shorten it even further. Maybe Tboj? Tutbab? I know! B-Jub. Kind of like J-Lo, but much much flabbier.
So….B-Jub? Is big. And flabby. And takes up a lot of room in my pants and elsewhere.
And? Hangs over my incision causing a repulsive buildup of moisture in a location that should not be moist.
Ew.
I have an opening in my incision. Yes, still. Three weeks later. A gaping hole in the middle of it that should be healed but alas, is not. Partially because I’m a stubborn ass who does too much and partially because B-Jub doesn’t let it dry like it should. My nurse sister-in-law checked it out and it’s not infected. This is good. But I have to clean it and tape big hunks of gauze in the fold that shouldn’t be there. If it sounds gross? It is. Perhaps grosser (more gross?) even.
Aren’t you glad you stopped by MMTaM today?

She is not fat – she is skin. She will slowly firm up on her own. If she is still hanging around at 7 mos postpartum like my sister wife is, then and only then is she fat.

OMG I soooo know what you’re going through. And it sucks, I know. I had a c-section on 1/18 and since I was so completely swollen with water retention before it, I was left with the same big flabby, saggy, bag of nothingness hanging down over my incision.
I also refused to sit still once I got home. How can you with a toddler and a newborn and so much around the house that needs to be done???
Anyway I had the same moisture issue and a lovely odor to go with it. Thankfully it’s not infected, not open and the swelling has gone down dramatically… I lost 28 pounds in a week. It’s insane the things we go through for our little ones.
Oh, so CONGRATS!!! on the birth of your precious little girl and hope you’re back to your regular self soon enough!

From one stubborn ass who does too much to another, try to at least rest and heal. Although I know that’s harder said than done…

Since I’m a stubborn ass myself, I’m not going to lecture, just gonna ask you to slow down a tad bit.

Belated congratualtions!!! She is beautiful – I have been so swamped with my crew that I have hardly been on to check out blogs. I think I laughed when I was told to be sure to rest – with 5? Hah!
But do try to slow down a bit

You’re funny. Hee hee.
Perhaps I find it funny because I’ve never given birth. Hmm.

Mmmm… one more of those awesome side effects of motherhood. AND? Who can freakin’ rest when they have a toddler and a newborn? Self cleaning houses have yet to be invented and even crappy not-so-nutritionally-sound-food has to be nuked or warmed up or opened or ordered so there’s really not a way to rest after childbirth. Hope you’re new friend disappears soon. I didn’t have a c and my abdominal walls were ruined by baby two. Until I can afford plastic surgery (probably around the fifth of never), I will be miss jelly belly. No matter how much dieting and ab exercises I subject myself to.

Oh, this made me laugh. I had a c-section with my first daughter and had the same thing, only mine DID get infected. YUCK. Getting ready for my second c-section in two weeks. I’m not looking forward to the return of the sister wife.

Okay, my second c-section is in 10 weeks. Geez! Wishful thinking over here.
(And yeah, this second comment is confirmation that I am a dork. How’s that for a first impression?)
