The end of an era?
The boy (please – go name my kids) is a strange sleeper. He’s been a horrible teether from the get-go and sometimes I think we should have shares in Advil. He has actually eaten his headboard. Spits shards of wood on the floor. It’s crazy.
Anyhoo, on a good night he sleeps 12-13 hours solid and on those days he doesn’t really nap – just sings in his crib for 2 hours but comes out less tired & in a better mood. Most of the time when he’s been up in the night crying & cuddling, he does still sleep during the day.
So is nap time almost over? (Don’t kid yourself. If it is he’ll still be in his room for 2 hours. I just wonder if he’ll be sleeping or not.)
When did your kid(s) stop napping? How did you know it was time?
He’s only 21 months old.
Just curious.

My oldest son stopped napping right around 2. I still got about 2 hours of quiet time in his room till he was 2.5. Then not even that was workable. Hope you get naps for awhile longer!

My kids were 18 months old when they stopped napping — no matter how hard I tried to make them sleep!

My oldest was 3 when she stopped napping…and my 2 year old still naps. Especially since she DOES NOT sleep well at night at all.

Let’s see my oldest napped until she was 3+. My middle DD stopped napping around 2. My youngest stopped napping around 26mths (but has recently started again 1 or 2x a week).

My little guy stopped napping when he turned two, which was indeed a sad day in this household. He still naps sometimes, but its usually in the late afternoon after preschool.

Becs was almost three. She was staying up way late at night, so we cut it out and she now goes to bed at 7:30pm … sleeps till 7-7:30 am…we also had a quiet time for about 6 months after that. Now she stays up all day …. Hang on to the naps as long as you can

My 12 year old continued napping ’til kindergarten started and he was forced to stop because of the schedule change. My 2 1/2 year old cut back to only one nap a day about the time he turned two. Before that he was napping at 10 and 2 every day. Of course he sleeps more soundly at night now. He generally takes a 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap at 2:00 p.m. every day now. Don’t know what I’ll do if that goes away -especially with the twins arriving in only six weeks.
