Summer ‘Do
After four months of waiting, I finally got in to see my gay male hairstylist. You know they’re the best, right?
I wanted a change for summer but I have strict criteria.
-I don’t do short hair. I don’t ever want to see the point at which the hair leaves my head.
-I wanted it off my neck a little more for the summer months because my internal thermostat is set to “raging heat.”
-The BG hates short hair on women, and my face is too fat for chin length hair so it needs to touch my collar bone in front, at minimum.
-I need to be able to pull it back to work out because I can’t stand sweaty hair on my face.
-It needs to be easy and quick to style. (Remember the one that needed to be straightened every day? It was in a pony tail 5 days out of 7.
My stylist came up with a slightly angled bob – off my neck in the back, longer in the front, very long layers to add body to my limp and lifeless locks. When he did it, it looked like this:

Cute, eh?
Pretend you don’t see the highly unsexy strap of my highly unsexy nursing bra.

When I did it, it looked like this. Not too bad…

Another view.
This is the only way for the family photographer to get a picture of herself with her kids.

Here’s the problem. This is what the back does when I do it. I tried a flat iron and a round brush and it still went wonky. What is up with that? Totally un-cute.
So, what do I do? Shut up and deal with it? Make sure I’m always at the back of the line so nobody sees it?

Gee, I’m the wrong one to give advice about hair. In the summer, I just let mine go nice and easy…curly! I wish I had the solution for you. It looks great though! Very chic.
How was your holiday?

Your hair looks great! It’s so hard to do the back of your hair, isn’t it?
My stylist is gay too. And totally the perfect stylist ever!
“This is the only way for the family photographer to get a picture of herself with her kids.” Amen to that.

Mine does that too but only on one side! I have a similar cut and baby fine hair! I found if I use a little extra conditioner/detangler on the ends I can blow dry it out … but if I get lazy or leave my hair damp forget it!

I was hoping someone had your solution here because I’m hoping to get a similar cut soon (a bit shorter than yours) and I’m worried I’ll have the same trouble getting the back done.
It looks great though, I think the angled bob is a brilliant style.
