Notes On The Chalkboard*
When my genius of a husband can’t recover my data, you know it’s gone for good.
If I have ever emailed you or would need to for any reason, please drop me a ‘how the hell are ya?” or something to muchmorethanamom@gmail.com so I can rebuild my address book. Otherwise…don’t ever expect to hear from me again.
Kidding, of course.
That aforementioned genius actually got me 2 (two!) new laptops today that he’s building from scratch. Well, just one. The other is for parts. It’ll take a few days because we have about 17 seconds a day of spare time but I will have a laptop again soon. And I will back up my Mozilla profiles. A la Bart Simpson…
I will back up my email profile.
I will back up my email profile.
I will back up my email profile.
I will back up my email profile.
I kind of take for granted living with a tech genius. We have our own server and everything backs up nightly so I don’t worry about it. I just keep forgetting that my Mozilla profiles (Firefox for bookmarks etc and Thunderbird for emails and all of my TOP stuff) aren’t included in that because they’re not on the server. Lesson learned. Until next time. Ahem.
Until then, I’ll be writing notes on various post-its, chalkboard and pads of paper as something I’ve lost in the land of laptops pops in to my head. A product I need to write about, the name of a publicist I was supposed to get back to…regular stuff for a shopping blogger.
*Not only am I referring to the chalkboards in my kitchen that I write notes on, but also the one that Bart writes his lines on at the beginning of every episode of the Simpsons. Clever, no?
Heh.

You are witty! hehe
I never erase much off gmail. Archiving is your friend. If you really want to save something, create yet another gmail account that is just for storage. I keep all my blog back ups, recites, payments … I also keep them on my computer too but if all hell broke lose I would have gmail (not to only depend on one service, however I think google is here to stay!)
