Just Gotta Wii
I’m not a huge gamer myself, but I play them with Primo all the time. Board games, online games, educational games & just for fun games…he likes them all.
I do love our Wii, though, so was excited when I received some games from Legacy Games to review.
The first game was Pet Pals: Animal Doctor for the Wii. It’s like bringing the veterinary operating table right into your living room. As a child I often thought I might pursue a veterinary degree until I realized I’d have to euthanize animals and see many animals in pain and realized I’d be a better furbaby-mama than vet. It was fun to pretend, though! The Wiimote simulates real veterinary tools and you, as the vet, get to treat 30 different cases ranging from minor afflictions like sunburn, cuts and infections to more serious problems like diabetes, tumors and snakebites. The cases in the game were created by real-life vets and they are fairly realistic. As in real life, there’s always a strange co-worker trying to help but often being more annoying than helpful. The animals are animated 3D and are stunning on our (albeit huge) full HD television, and my son particularly enjoyed the fact that he could feed, clean and play with them in the Recovery Room and “make them happy now, Mommy!”
The other game we received to review was Zoo Vet: Endangered Animals for the Nintendo DS, but there’s just one catch. We don’t have a DS.
The end. Someone send me a DS to review.
Kidding, of course.
We gave the game to a friend’s teenage daughter to review and here’s what she had to say.
In this games I had to use my stylus to give check-ups, treat sick animals and even perform surgeries like a real vet. It was cool to have to deal with emergencies just like I was really taking care of sick animals at the zoo.
The game features 15 different medical tools, each with a unique microgame, make the player feel as though the tool is really in their hands. There are also 6 fun mini-games where you can interact with the animals in their natural environment.
Seriously though…someone send me a DS, k? I want to play!
You can save $5.00 on each of the games reviewed here.

We’re not big video game people, we have an xBox 360 which was given to my oldest and it’s kinda fun. I would totally buy a Wii, one day just not sure when?
