Does it still count as one cup of coffee if it holds half the pot?

Bella actually slept from 7:15 pm until 4:30 am last night. Can I get a hallelujah? (Or “HA-lay-LOO-lee-AY” as Primo sings!) Then when I nursed her at 4:30 she actually went back to sleep in her crib and is still there now at 6:45 am.

I had gone to bed at midnight and after 4.5 hours of solid sleep in my own bed without a baby I feel completely rested. I laid there for an hour or so hoping to get back to sleep again before the kids get up, but then decided to stop wasting time and read a little Twilight do laundry and clean up the basement a little bit. And make coffee, natch.

The poor big guy is currently in with Primo, who woke up hysterical at about 4:45 am. He sleeps 12-ish hours overnight for the most part but he occasionally wakes up and when he does he’s always having a complete meltdown. Sometimes he has to pee and doesn’t like that. Other times we have no idea at all what woke him and it takes forever to calm him down. He has no idea what a dream is or if he’s had a bad one…and honestly, he’s never had a really bad or scary experience – thank God – so what could he be dreaming about?

Today I’m babysitting 2 kids the same age as mine for the morning and we’re all off to a playgroup. The Big Guy is taking my van in for an oil change (he’s just finishing the 3rd of his 4 weeks of holidays so I’m putting him to work) and the rest of the day will be spent trying to find time to scrub floors & make food for Bella’s party tomorrow. Did you know that if you invite the 7 friends you spend time with every week you will get over 30 people at your kid’s 1st birthday party? Turns out they all have 2 kids too, and adding a couple of Grandma’s and an auntie on to that plus our family of four makes for the crazy. Oh well – the kids won’t notice the chaos and since we’re having just a low key glorified playgroup it won’t be a big deal. The adults can escape to the basement and play with Wii Fit (thanks Mom!) if it gets too crazy and I can watch the kids upstairs where it’s child friendly.
