Eating & Shopping ~ Two of My Favourite Things!
Yesterday the Big Guy and I celebrated five wonderful years of marriage. We didn’t do gifts, but I made him (us, I suppose) a 8×10 framed storyboard of some of our wedding pictures with our vows printed on it. After the kids went to bed, our friend came over to babysit and we headed out to one of our favourite restaurants for dinner. It’s the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding, and we try to go there two or three times a year just for old times’ sake. It’s always over $100 so we can’t go more often than that! They have this kick butt appetizer – ginger chili chicken – and their four layer chocolate cake with whipped fresh cream and raspberry puree is wicked good. And the french onion soup is one of the best I’ve ever had. Each time we try to remember that next time we should just have appies, soup & dessert and each time we forget. Maybe next time! My girlfriend brought us over an anniversary Pavlova (a New Zealand dessert that’s like a crispy sweet meringue base topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit) which we downed tonight.
Today I was able to sneak out by myself for the afternoon and hit the mall to look for some back to school deals for myself. We figured I’d look a little funny in maternity duds when Bella’s almost two by the time I go back, and the incredibly unsupportive nursing bras aren’t really necessary anymore. I stopped at the Gap first, figuring it would all be crap made in Cambodia to fit a size 0 like it often it but I was SO pleasantly surprised! I got four full outfits that (I think – maybe) look pretty darn good! The sizes are obviously off because of the three skirts I bought, two are small and one is medium. “Fat” chance! (Heh. I crack myself up.) I wasn’t able to get any of the coveted underoos, but hopefully we’ll be able to scrounge some coin before school starts for that. After we pay off today, of course. We really couldn’t afford even a t-shirt but the Big Guy assures me that we’ll find the money to make sure I don’t have to wear maternity clothes or yoga pants to my first day of school! Such a sweetie he is. He even gave up going to our big international airhshow today so I could get some new clothes.
Hope y’all are having a great weekend!
By the way, I’ve got a cross-posted review up of some great household products.

Happy Anniversary! I really should always remember since we missed the beautiful wedding due to Becca’s early birth!
Isn’t awesome how our husbands get it when it comes to clothes?!?!

Happy Anniversary!
sizes suck! that’s why I have so many pairs of shoes!!!
although, due to my running, I’m beginning to like some sizes! Bought a pair of pants the other day…small! shirt wise; not so much!! My body type is a marshmallow on toothpics! They never show what to do with that body type!
