Urgent Prayer Request
I don’t blog about faith or religion very often if at all because I feel that it’s a private thing, but I’m breaking my own rules to ask you to PLEASE pray for my friend Krista. If you’re a long time reader, you’ll remember Krista from when I was pregnant with Primo. She’s the one that lent me all of her books, clothes and baby items and was a huge support for me through it all. We’ve been friends for 5 years since we were side-by-side teaching partners and she’s one of the kindest & most loving & generous people you’d ever be fortunate to meet.
She has a son entering grade one and a four year old daughter in preschool, and she just had her third baby, Sophie, on Wednesday. This morning, just less than 72 hours after the birth, she was nursing Sophie at home and felt some pain in her leg. She asked her husband what the doctor had said about blood clots, and finished feeding her newborn. From what I understand, she stood up after nursing and fell over. The blood clot had gone to her heart & lungs. Her heart stopped. Paramedics began working on her within a very short period of time and were not able to get a steady heartbeat for some time. She now has a heartbeat but is not breathing on her own and is in ICU.
I am helpless but to pray and to ask you to do the same. For Krista, her husband Jared and their three beautiful children.
Updated to add: Thank you all for your prayers. Krista passed away this morning. Please continue to pray for her family and friends.

Thank you for posting this . . . I am a friend of Jillian (Krista’s sister) and her and I have been texting today as she asked me to pray when she found out about her sister. I was waiting to talk to Jillian by phone but thought I would do a search to see if anything was posted. I am 39 weeks pregnant myself and also knowing Krista & Jared through Jillian, it is all too real! We are praying!

Oh Nicole, I am so sorry! I will keep her in my thoughts and pray and hope that she is able to make it out of this, for her husband and her children. Many thoughts and prayers sent her way!

Oh my goodness! There aren’t even words… I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend, but especially sorry for her husband and her kids… that precious newborn…I can’t imagine…many prayers for her family.

SO Sorry Nicole!! What a loss! The poor children and husband.I just suffered thru 2 blood clots in my lungs. Thank God They found them in time and were able to disolve them. I was in the hospital for a week until they disolved. All I remember from that hospital stay was them consitly telling me not to move or it could possibly kill me.
