Walk n’ Tone

When my friend posted her review of our e-friend‘s newly released mp3 workout, I knew I’d better get on the ball. After being away for over a week and having no office for 3 months (STILL no effing basement!) it’s been tough to do anything much for reviews since it all got packed away in the big steel box of doom. Since Janice’s release was digital, though, I can actually review it now! (Well, thanks to Raechelle’s reminder, anyway…).

Since I haven’t updated my iPod in over 6 months and we don’t have an active server while the basement is being worked on, I just downloaded her file and played it in media player while I walked on the spot in my dining room. Yes, I am a dork. Thanks for asking.

Her first release uses 90′s dance music, which made me feel right at home. If I was drunk, I would have felt more at home. You know, since that’s what the 90′s was all about, but it wouldn’t have been very conducive to a workout, would it? Janice guides you with voiceover through a 40 minute walk that includes a wide variety of arm & shoulder exercises. All you need are some runners & some light (2-5 lbs) weights. The vocal recording was very crackly & loud so it was hard to keep at a good volume for the music, but that’s my only criticism. She does a great job of being encouraging & explaining the exercises which is harder than you’d think without a visual prompt. And this morning, my arms are sore – always a good sign!
